You must apply online and set up a new account or access an existing account (accounts may be set up prior to the waitlist opening, however, applications can not be submitted until the waitlist is open).
Applicants will receive a notification by email stating their application was submitted to the waiting list lottery. Applicants will then receive an email and notification as to whether their application was added to the waiting list. All accepted applications will be placed on the NHA Section 8 Waiting list in a randomized order.
Applicants requiring assistance to submit an application can visit the NHA office at 10 Westwood Park, Norwich, CT 06360 by January 12, 2024, at 4:30 PM.
Submission of a lottery application provides an opportunity for applicants to be placed on the NHA Section 8 HCV Waiting List. Submission of an application does not guarantee that the applicants will be added to the Section 8 HCV Waiting List, as it is a lottery process. After all lottery applications are received, 1,000 applications will be selected at random to be added to the NHA Section 8 HCV Waiting List. It is the policy of the NHA to comply fully with all Federal, State, and local nondiscrimination laws; the Americans with Disabilities Act; and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development regulations governing Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity. No person shall, on the grounds of race, color, sex, religion, national or ethnic origin, familial status, or disability be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be otherwise subjected to discrimination under the NHA Section 8 HCV Program.
